Pencil.dev shipped two new features for its canvas-based AI design agent. "Let it cook" lets the agent automatically iterate on a selected frame — up to six rounds of Layout or Style variations, each inspired by the last. The team notes the best result often appears at iteration 2 or 3, not the last, so manual review still matters.1 Quick Actions lets you select top-level frames and instantly explore style or variant options without opening the full agent chat.

The update also cuts token usage and improves on-canvas generation speed, and adds Anthropic Claude Opus 4.8 and Google Gemini 3.5 Flash as available models alongside the existing lineup.
